(PURE SEPPALA dogs in this pedigree are indicated by purple-coloured type and capital letters.)

"THRUSH," born 10 July 1965, was a beautiful, mild-mannered little white blue-eyed female I acquired from her breeder Steve Tassey of Shelburne, NH, sometime around 1970 when I was in Oxford Station, ON. This pedigree shows a strong emphasis on lead dogs: CHEENAH'S SHEBA was Tassey's lead; NICKO 2nd OF LITTLE ALASKA led John Piscopo's team. BELFORD'S BUZ ran lead for Joel Nordholm, TIMMIE OF GATINEAU for Dr. Charles Belford, and of course old NICKO OF GATINEAU (who holds this pedigree together) was a leader both for McFaul and later for Dr. Harold Frendt. It's not easy to figure the Seppala content for Thrush; it's something like two-thirds if I work from 6 or 7 generations. Thrush was Seppala-ish but hardly typical Seppala. It's a good New England pedigree: WHITE WATER LAKE KNIGHT is there, so is IZOK OF GAP MOUNTAIN, a few Monadnock dogs, a few from Igloo Pak, some Foxstand stock. It's amazing how consistently the pattern does hold up from one example to the next.
