(PURE SEPPALA dogs in this pedigree are indicated by purple-coloured type and capital letters.)

"CHIEFSON" was an old-fashioned Canadian Siberian Huskie with a very long coat. A successful show dog in his day, if memory serves he was the first Siberian in Canada to go Best in Show. He was born 17 January 1960, out of a bitch from Dr. Lombard and a male bred by Peg Nansen out of Austin Moorcroft's Huskie-Haven line. His breeder Mrs. W. J. F. Dunlop, then of Burlington, ON (originally Bunty Ricker, daughter of Elizabeth Ricker, later Mrs. Roma Goudreau of Chelmsford, ON) kept "Son" for many years and finally sold him to Robert Reiber and myself in 1969. About 70% Seppala background, the rest Seeley lines, Chiefson was of the original Canadian show dog type before the show bloodlines from the USA took over. Son was trained to harness but his weight and profuse coat put him at a considerable disadvantage for serious dogsled work.
