UELEN'S BEOWULF OF SEPP-ALTA, born 26 November 1976 and bred by Bruce Morrow of Parksville, British Columbia, quickly became for his owner Doug Willett the "gold standard" by which all other lead dogs were to be judged. The mating of the two Bragg-bred Seppalas SURGUT OF MARKOVO and HELEN OF MARKOVO produced a number of fine dogs that were the foundation of the Willett racing teams in the first five years from 1977 through 1981; BEOWULF himself was main leader of the SEPP-ALTA team through 1984. Except for Ruki of Gatineau and Brigette of Nordic, this entire pedigree goes back to J. D. McFaul dogs within two to four generations.
